Bringing out the best in people is at the core of my job as a (online)training– and assessment actress, co-trainer & assessor. Setting people in motion, challenging them to let them grow whereby I am a living mirror. Consequently, they become more self aware and get the most out of themselves in their connection with others.

For over 20 years I work as a freelancer in (online)skills and behavioral training sessions as well as in (online)assessments. Participants often share with me that they feel comfortable because of my energetic, empathetic and down-to-earth style. Therefore, they are able to open up and make optimum use of their learning available.

In my work I pay close attention to the participant and work deeply from my intuition, which enables me to quickly sense the essence of a practice situation. Furthermore, due to my HR background and the diversity of courses and organizations I am working in, I gained a lot of knowledge of different corporate cultures and target groups. Therefore, I speak the ‘language’ of corporate business, being able to place myself easily in all kinds of situations and provide participants with effective feedback.

I am fluent in English and consequently, work besides Dutch also in English for leading global industries, like PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Boskalis, Van Oord and Dell. Therefore, as a result of the roleplay, I can provide the participant with concrete feedback and create credible simulations in English.

Training actress & Co-trainer

As a (online)training actress & co-trainer I am at the service of the participant, the stage belongs to the participant. During courses I challenge people to do what they are normally not inclined to in their work or private life. Now is the moment to practise with new behavior, in a safe environment. It is all about experimenting, pushing boundaries and seeing what the effect is.

Natural acting is of the essence to make sure the participant is able to place himself easily in the simulation and can therefore work optimally on his personal learning objectives. The feedback I give in response to the roleplay is concrete and to the point with an emphasis on what is effective and what can be done differently. This is done in a dynamic and empathic way where there is room for humor and putting things in perspective therefore, people feel safe to experiment. This teaches them to reflect in all kinds of (work)situations, which provides insight into the effect of their own communication on the other person. Self-awareness grows with the aim of getting the most out of themselves and therefore their connection with others.

Courses and Organizations

I have worked for over 20 years as a (online)training actress & co-trainer for the benefit of skills and behavioral training for various organizations. Areas covered include trauma care, conflict management, dealing with emotion & agression, giving & receiving feedback, psychopathology, assertiveness, (personal)leadership and coaching.

The organizations I work with are part of the commercial sector as well as the non profit sector, such as the Police, Fire Brigade, Department of Defence, Institute for Psychotrauma, Victim Support, Academy for Ambulance Care, Youth Care Agency, Child Protection Agency, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Dell, Van Oord, Boskalis, Robeco, ING, high schools, universities of applied sciences, hospitals and housing corporations.

In the past years I have completed various courses specifically for training actors. Such as (advanced)courses in the field of instrumental/frustration aggression, psychopathology, providing feedback for training actors plus I am trained in models and theories like Window of Tolerance-trauma/anxiety related responses, ABCD-behavior, the Rose of Leary and Nonviolent Communication (NVC). Also I gained a lot of experience in working with Voice Dialogue and the GROW model. In addition to this I obtained in 2020 my CELTA, Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults, at the British Council in Rabat. This enabled me to further develop my didactical and English skills.

Assessment actress & Assessor

As a (online)assessment actress & assessor I offer the candidate platforms to show himself with the aim of providing insight into competencies and development points. As with training acting I am at the service of the participant, the participant is centre staged. As an assessment actress I switch between the different platforms on which competencies are tested in a subtle way. This ensures that the simulation is natural and the participant is stimulated to show himself. This quickly shows what the candidate has to offer. Depending on the wishes of the client, I give concrete feedback focusing on what the effect has been. This creates a clear picture of someone’s future value for the organization and the right comparative assessment can be made. In addition, I am also an assessor. In this role I am leading assessment and development centers for professionals, management and senior management profiles.

Assessments and Organizations

In 2002 I started as a selection advisor at the police academy. Assessment acting and assessing were a big part of this position. Then I started working as an assessor and assessment actress at LTP, one of the oldest and most well-known psychological consultancy agencies in The Netherlands. At these organizations I have laid a solid foundation for my work as a freelance (online)assessment actress & assessor. As one of the permanent freelance assessment actors and assessors of LTP, Buro Wittenburg and Talogy I work through them for companies, such as KPMG, DNB, Stedin, Belastingdienst and Achmea. I also work directly with my own private clients.

Over the past years, in order to continue developing myself, I have completed various courses in the field of assessing and assessment acting at the police academy, LTP and Talogy.

About Mariëlle

Raised in the green village Apeldoorn, I lived in vibrant Rotterdam for 10 years after which I spent a number of years on an adventure in the country I lost my heart to, beautiful Morocco. In 2023 I returned to my beloved Rotterdam. My love for Morocco remained and cuts through everything, so in 2024 I decided to continue my life’s journey in Rabat. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Once I completed my education in Human Resource Management at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in Zwolle,  I worked for several years in HR in various organizations, after which I started as a selection advisor at the police academy and as an assessor/assessment actress at LTP. It was here that I discovered how much I love this work and decided to start as a freelance training- and assessment actress, co-trainer & assessor.

In addition, I have enjoyed giving personal training and groupfitness training for more than 7 years in various gyms and in the open air. In doing so, I literally set people in motion and challenged them to push their boundaries  and thereby come out stronger. This experience also shaped me in who I am now as a training- and assessment actress, co-trainer & assessor, so I can help people even more with reaching their full potential when it comes to connecting with others.
